The brief
Youth volunteering has enormous potential. The route in had to catch up.
Millions of UK young people want to contribute to causes they care about, but finding the right opportunities has been fragmented and frustrating. Impactful is a mobile-first platform for 13 to 30 year olds: discover organisations, post your own ideas, log what you do and build a record that travels with you.
Enjoy Development took the platform from blank page to live in the iOS and Android stores, and operates it today.

What it does
Six things the platform does for its users.
- Matched, not postedRecruiting volunteers is normally posting and hoping. Organisations get a ranked list of people whose interests, age, availability and skills fit, and one tap to open the conversation.
- Privacy by designNobody appears to an organisation until they opt in, and then only as a first name, age bracket and area. Guardian consent is built into sign-up for under-16s.
- Built for the funder's questionEvery activity carries the skills and outcomes attached to it, and young people log what they did when they finish. So “what did they get out of it?” has an answer.
- iOS, Android and webOne codebase across both app stores, plus the portal. Built and run by us since launch.
- Real-time searchInstant search across organisations and activities, with filters for location, cause and time.
- AI-generated actionsPersonalised volunteer ideas built on a compliant, custom-prompted model. Safe by design for young users.
